Privacy Policy
1. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for processing under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Guido Muly
Wormser Str. 80
67071 Ludwigshafen
Germany
Email: jee.office@gmail.com
2. What Data Does SpectraView Process?
SpectraView does not transmit any data to external servers. All audio analysis and recording happens entirely on your device. There is no server component, no cloud processing, no analytics, no tracking identifiers, and no advertising. As the developer, I never have access to your audio files, recordings, or usage patterns.
3. Audio Files (Import)
Audio files you open in SpectraView are loaded from a location of your choice via the standard iPadOS / macOS document picker (e.g. the Files app, iCloud Drive, or local device storage). These files remain exclusively on your device or in your own iCloud account — SpectraView neither stores, transmits, nor uploads them.
4. Microphone Access and Recordings
SpectraView includes a recording feature that accesses your device's microphone. The first time you use the feature, the operating system will ask for permission; you can revoke it at any time via the iPadOS / macOS system settings under "Privacy & Security → Microphone".
Recordings are saved as .m4a files inside the app's
Documents directory on your device. They therefore live
exclusively in your own data area — accessible through the Files
app and, if you have iCloud enabled for SpectraView, also via your
own iCloud Drive.
Recordings are never transmitted to any server, never processed in the cloud, and never shared with third parties. Sharing only happens if you actively use the standard iPadOS / macOS features (Share Sheet, Export, AirDrop, etc.) to send a recording to another destination.
5. Apple Services
SpectraView is distributed via the Apple App Store. As part of that distribution Apple processes data independently of me (e.g. purchase transactions, app updates, and optional diagnostic and usage data if you have enabled it in iPadOS / macOS system settings). Such processing is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. I do not receive any personal data from Apple — only aggregated, anonymous sales and crash statistics.
6. This Website
When you visit this website, my hosting provider creates standard server log files (IP address, timestamp, file requested, browser type). These records are technically required to operate the website securely and are deleted after a short period. There is no tracking, no profiling, and no use of cookies or third-party services. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technically reliable operation).
7. Your Rights Under the GDPR
If you are located in the EU, the GDPR grants you the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
Because no personal data is processed, most of these rights have no practical application here. You may nonetheless contact your competent data protection authority at any time.
8. Notice to California Residents (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have rights regarding personal information collected about them. Since SpectraView does not collect, sell, or share any personal information, these rights are not engaged. SpectraView does not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
9. Changes to This Policy
As SpectraView evolves and new features are added that may require data processing, this policy will be updated accordingly. It is worth checking back here before installing major updates.
10. Contact
